      Satellite navigation is currently based on the US GPS and Russian GLONASS military satellite constellations. An evolution of those systems, known as the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), will provide an overlay function and supplementary services. Europe's major contribution to GNSS-1 is EGNOS [Image Date: 1998/01] [98.01.010-002]
