- Description
The Huygens Probe shortly after landing on the surface of Titan. The wind blows the parachute sideways. The scientific measurement may continue on the surface for up to 45 minutes until the Probe's batteries deplete, the electronics become too cold or the Orbiter breaks the radio link. The temperature at the surface of Titan is -180degC. Artist's license is used here to show Saturn on the horizon, although the planet would not be visible by an observer close to the Probe.
