This Envisat ASAR Wide-Swath radar multi composite colour image is centred over the peninsula of Denmark.
The terrain of the peninsula, Jutland is generally low, except for a range of hills on the east central portion of the peninsula. Within the hills is the country's highest point, Yding Skovhøj. Jutland is traversed by numerous small streams, of which the Gudena, at 157 kilometres (98 miles), is the longest. The west coast of the peninsula, which consists of a continuous sandy beach, has only one major harbour, in Esbjerg (bright area). Off the coast of Esbjerg, visualizing the image in actual pixel size, a grid-shaped formation of wind-mills (farm) can be observed. To the right of Jutland is Copenhagen that lies on two islands, the greater part on Sjælland Island, and the smaller part, called Christianshavn, on Amager Island. In the upper right portion of the image is the country of Sweden.
The image is made of three ASAR images acquired on different dates and assigning a colour ( RGB ) to each image ( Red : 20 February 2004, Green : 26 March 2004 , Blue : 20 June 2004).
