- Description
To celebrate the successful addition of the Italian-built Node 2, the Shuttle and ISS crews were treated to a special Italian meal later in the day. The meal, which was initiated by Italy’s Accademia Italiana della Cucina, was supported by Nespoli, an Italian national.
The dishes were selected in cooperation with ESA, NASA and the Italian space agency, ASI, and included some typically Italian foods such as olives, dried tomatoes, fettuccine and risotto. Also on the menu were fresh food items provided by an Italian company from Bari in southern Italy.
