For the first ATV docking, Mission Operations will pace the spacecraft through 3 stages: Demonstration Day 1, Demonstration Day 2, and final docking. At each of Demo Day 1 & 2, ATV will be commanded to perform an escape, to test and confirm that all automatic systems are working before approachuing closer than 12 m to the ISS. Points marked S-1/2 to S41 represent critical station-keeping points along the way.
