S128-E-009993 (8 Sept. 2009) --- Backdropped by Earth's horizon and the blackness of space, the International Space Station is seen from Space Shuttle Discovery as the two spacecraft begin their relative separation. Earlier the STS-128 and Expedition 20 crew concluded nine days of cooperative work on the Shuttle and Station. Undocking of the two spacecraft occurred at 21:26 CEST on 8 September 2009.
