      The ceremonial inauguration of the Galileo ground station in Nouméa, New Caledonia took place on 30 September 2010. The opening ribbon is cut by René Oosterlinck, ESA’s Director of the Galileo Programme and Navigation-related Activities, Patrick Puy, head of TDF France and Alain Lazare, Mayor of the commune of Boulouparis.
