      Deze kaart met zee-ijsdiktes in het Arctisch gebied is gemaakt met extreem nauwkeurige gegevens van CryoSat. Data van januari en februari 2011 is gebruikt om de dikte van het ijs in kaart te brengen tijdens het jaarlijkse maximum. Dankzij de bijzondere polaire baan van CryoSat kan de ijsdikte dichtbij de Noordpool voor het eerst worden gemeten.
