This image was acquired by the Mars Express High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on 17 May 2010 and shows a part of the northern polar region of Mars at the northern hemisphere summer solstice. Mars Express obtained this image during orbit 8160. It has a ground resolution of approximately 85 m per pixel, and was taken in the northern polar region at about 85°N/336°E. It combines data from HRSC’s nadir channel and one stereo channel to produce this 3D image. Stereoscopic glasses are required to see the 3D effect.
